Marilyn Monroe Clothing Collection at Macy's

I'm really looking forward to checking out the mstylelab Marilyn Monroe clothing collection, available at Macy's March 1st. According to Macy's website, the collection will "will feature trendsetting styles. Look forward to fun, flirty clothes inspired by the timeless appeal of one of Hollywood's greatest legends." Although there's no clothing on the website yet, the ad campaign features some (or all?) of the collection. The clothes look really cute and affordable, but they are not reproductions of clothing that Marilyn actually wore. Rather, they seem to have the "essence" of Marilyn. I think Marilyn would have looked great in any of these outfits!

Striped Dress in XS-XL - $69.50
Vest in XS-XL - $49.50

Cropped Cardigan in XS-XL - $39.50
Lace Bustier Top in XS-XL - $29.50
Jeans in 24-33 - $49.50

Denim Jacket in XS-XL - $59.50
Graphic T-shirt in XS-XL - $29.50
Jeans in 24-33 - $49.50

Gingham Top in XS-XL - $39.50
Denim Shorts in 24-33 - $39.50
The top is very "Elly May Barbie" but I like it. The denim shorts have cute lipstick prints on the peek-a-boo pockets.

Printed Dress in XS-XL - $59.50
This is probably the only thing I've seen in the collection that resembles something Marilyn actually wore. The style of the dress isn't the same, but the cherry print on white is somewhat similar to a dress Marilyn wore in The Misfits.

Printed Trench Coat in XS-XL - $89.50
Gingham Dress in XS-XL - $69.50
Denim Vest in XS-XL - $49.50
Lace Dress in XS-XL - $69.50
Printed Jacket in XS-XL - $69.50
Peek-A-Boo Dress in XS-XL - $69.50

Fall 2011 Guess Campaign

I really like the Fall 2011 Guess Campaign starring Amber Heard and shot by Ellen Von Unwerth and the whole Marilyn Monroe / Bus Stop spin BUUUUUUUT are these clothes available yet? I really want that lacy looking top and pencil skirt with the slit. It's almost identical to one of Marilyn's outfits in Bus Stop . I don't see anything from these photos online. Don't tease us with these fantastic retro clothes, Guess! Maybe I'm just too eager. It's still summer after all!

Marilyn Monroe's House is for Sale

I am so fascinated by this! I would love to go and take a look at this house in person, not because she died here, but because she lived here. Plus it looks like a beautiful house. It definitely doesn't look as creepy and sad as it does in all those black & white photos following her passing. I hope whoever buys this house keeps the remodeling to a minimum. I've read that a previous owner did some serious upgrades to the house & things are not as they were when Marilyn owned it. Bummer. At least it hasn't been torn down and McMansioned yet!

There's been a flurry of articles online regarding the sale. Here are some good ones:

Daily Mail
The Marilyn Monroe Collection

Here's the realtor's website. Great pictures & slideshow on here:

LIFE Remembering Marilyn

LIFE Magazine has just released a special tribute book filled with beautiful photos of the beautiful Marilyn Monroe. I saw this at the grocery store tonight and bought it without hesitation. Amazon is pre-selling the hardcover version for $12.21, but the softcover is $11.99 and should be available now at most chain supermarkets and bookstores.
