GUESS Topaz Bracelet Clutch

I saw this clutch @ Macy's the other day and was very tempted to buy it, but then I thought about all the crap that I carry in my purse, and knew that my purchase would be a big impractical waste. It comes in 4 different colors - silver, gold, copper, and a turquoise-y metallic color. Strangely, it's not offered on Macy's website and I can't find the turquoise color online anywhere! At least GUESS has it on their site in the other three colors.

Jamie Lynn Spears: dad is “furious, depressed & devastated” over pregnancy
Thursday December 20th, 2007 at 4:18 pm by Heather

Britney and Jamie Lynn Spears’ dad is said to be “furious” not that his 16 year old daughter is pregnant but because she chose to give a tell-all interview about it.

According to Us Weekly, Jamie Spears is “depressed” and “devastated” that Jamie Lynn and his wife Lynne Spears spoke to OK magazine about the pregnancy and declined to take part in the interview: “He put his foot down and refused to take any money and ‘profit off of his children’. [He] feels Jamie-Lynn ruined her life.”

But whether he would have got any money at all is debatable - the interview is said to have been carried out for free, but OK will pay them $1million for an exclusive photo shoot after the baby is born next year.

Lynne is said to have offered OK the interview after older daughter Britney broke down on a photo shoot for the magazine earlier in the year. A source claims Lynne called the magazine to thank them “for handling it so well” in their story about the shoot then went to them to break the news about Jamie Lynn: “She trusted them to do it in a way that would be sympathetic to her daughter.”

In related news, sources close to the family have dismissed Jamie Lynn’s claim that she’s 12 weeks into the pregnancy, with the baby due next June. A source told the National Enquirer that Jamie is between four and five months pregnant at the moment and due in the spring.

Life & Style Weekly added that when the time comes, Jamie Lynn will be looking to her own mum rather than the dad-to-be Casey Aldridge for support during labour.

A source told the magazine: “Jamie Lynn has asked her mom - and not Casey - to be in the delivery room with her.”

“He’s really got nothing to offer this baby. He’s a kid himself. They’re not dating now, they have no plans to get married.”

Complete Fake Woman

I was at the grocery store last tonight, checking out the magazines, when something caught my eye. A painting of a barbie doll was on the cover of some magazine called "Complete Woman." Why is a doll on the cover, I thought to myself. She looked like she should be riding the airbrushed unicorn in the poster I have hanging in my bedroom, and various "cute" forest critters should be playing behind her underneath a rainbow. Was she real? Was she even a celebrity? And then I saw her name. "Ashlee Simpson." Wtf??? I don't think so. Someone overdid it on the retouching BIG TIME. I don't think they overairbrush this much in even Playboy! I'm all for airbrushing but this is ridiculous & I can't believe this was ok'd by a bunch of magazine peeps. Is this what it's come to? Is this going to become the norm? Wtf??????? Awful.

'Lost' back in January!

ABC finds new place for 'Lost'

The show will move to Thursdays but the strike may prevent its season from being completed.

By Maria Elena Fernandez, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
December 15, 2007

Is half of "Lost" better than nothing?

ABC and its producers are hoping so. The network released its strike-affected midseason schedule Friday and, in a surprise move, said that beginning Jan. 31 it would put the island mystery in the Thursday night time slot vacated by "Grey's Anatomy," which is running out of fresh episodes.

When Fox announced last month that it would postpone "24" indefinitely, speculation arose that ABC might decide to hold the similarly serialized "Lost," which has only eight completed episodes of its 16-episode season.

The switch to Thursdays marks the third time-slot move for "Lost" in four seasons and the first time it won't air on Wednesday nights. On Thursdays the mysterious castaways won't have to face off against Fox's "American Idol" machine, nor will they compete against original episodes of CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" as long as the writers strike continues.

"Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof said, "The only show you don't want to be up against in January is 'American Idol,' and there were very few time slots that would afford us to not compete with 'Idol.'

"If they had told us last year we were going to get the 'Grey's Anatomy' time slot, I would have been thrilled, especially since there's no new 'CSI' to go against," Lindelof continued. "But the time slot is completely colored by the fact that we're still engaged in this writers strike. It's bad for the entire town."

"Lost" and "24" have done better in the ratings when the networks aired episodes without interruption in scheduling. To that end, ABC, in a highly unconventional move, announced in May that "Lost," the series that helped lift the network out of last place, would have three more seasons of 16 uninterrupted episodes each, airing from February to May through 2010.

The decision came after a tumultuous year for the series. ABC aired its third season in two parts -- six episodes in the fall and 16 in midseason -- and the size of its audience declined by 14%. When the show returned in midseason it picked up momentum, convincing ABC executives that the show's fans prefer it to have a straight run.

But the strike has altered those plans, and ABC may now have to air "Lost" in two parts. Lindelof and executive producer Carlton Cuse intended the new season to be a 16-episode arc and were hoping that the strike would be resolved in time for ABC to be able to air the series in its entirety continuously. With the end of the strike increasingly uncertain, Lindelof said Friday that ABC had no choice.

"What I would not want to do is hold these episodes of 'Lost' indefinitely," he said. "I feel like the fans haven't seen any 'Lost' since the end of May, and I completely understand the network's decision to air these eight episodes.

"We certainly designed our season as 16 straight, and this is not ideal by any stretch of the imagination. But we can't go on strike in one breath and then complain about the fact that the series isn't airing the way we want it to in the other."

Because of complaints from fans last year that the show poses more questions than it answers, the writers learned to wrap up their seasons more definitively, Cuse said. To that end, they designed the first half of the fourth season as setup and the second half as payoff.

"There is a fear that if the strike continues and we're not able to complete the season, that people might feel a little frustrated because those eight episodes aren't conclusive," Cuse said.

McDonald's Eggnog Milkshake

Why are these so hard to find??? I look forward to having one every year, but that's ONLY if I can find a McDonald's that actually has them. And no McD's in my area seem to, even though it's less than 2 weeks til Christmas. I guess they are as elusive as McDonald's other (almost equally as yummy) Shamrock Shake. Argh! While I was searching for a pic for this blog posting, I came across this article about one guy's hunt for the Shamrock Shake. Man, I can relate!

Paper Dolls

I used to be obsessed with this tv movie and the ensuing tv show, both from the early 80s. I also owned the paperback book by Susan Beth Pfeffer with the girls from the tv movie version (Daryl Hannah! Alexandra Paul!) on the cover. Oh, how I stared at that book cover!!! I thought the girls looked so glamorous and grown-up, and I thought "Taryn" was the coolest name ever. I don't remember too much about either version of Paper Dolls, but I think I preferred the tv movie one a little bit more. I'll take either one on DVD though! There are only 3 tv movies/shows I want on DVD more: the incredible Lace starring Phoebe Cates (hmmm and why not Lace II while we're at it), the ABC Afterschool Specials episode of The Gymnast, and the best Mickey Mouse Club ever - the one from the 70s - The New Mickey Mouse Club. Come on Hollywood, put this shiznit out on DVD!!! ;)

Kuromi Double Mirror Compact: Goth

I am in love with Kuromi! She's the archenemy of My Melody. The anti-My Melody, if you will! While I love My Melody too, there's something very wickedly appealing about Kuromi. The US Sanrio site has got a bunch of Kuromi items, like pens & stickers. I like this mirror the best though! It's $7.95 and you can find it here!
