Disneyland Forever CDs

My Disneyland Forever CD

Does anyone remember when Disneyland had the Disneyland Forever cd kiosks back in the late 90s? I loved being able to make custom cds with Disneyland music and/or sounds of my choosing!

From the back of the cd:

When guests recall their day at Disneyland, their first thoughts are probably of the attractions and environments that they have seen.

But of equal importance are the sounds that they have heard. From the call of the train conductor at Main Street Station and the exotic pounding of jungle drums in Adventureland to the richly layered soundtracks of its famous attractions, the sounds of "The Happiest Place On Earth" play a key role in the Disneyland experience.

To commemorate more than 40 years of magic, Disneyland® Forever offers a rare selection of classic Disneyland soundtracks. Here is your personal collection of musical memories to enjoy today and in years to come.

With special thanks to all the Imagineers, past and present, who have created the timeless sights, sounds and music of Disneyland® Park.

This compilation is dedicated to Jack Wagner, known to millions as the "Voice of Disneyland."

Burlesque!!!!

I LOOOOOOOOOVED this movie! Yeah, the story's been told a thousand times before (small town girl goes to Hollywood to make it big) but whatever. I could care less about that. The songs, the dancing, the costumes, the makeup, the hair! Not to mention the two divas extraordinaire, Cher & Christina. PLUS some of the song & dance numbers seemed a little bit influenced by my favorite movie Chicago, which all adds up to way too much awesomeness, at least for me! I've been listening to the soundtrack daily. MUCH better than Christina's last effort, Bionicicon. There's even a book out, loaded with photos from the film!

Kylie & Jason PWL era music now on iTunes!

from Chartrigger.com

As if the Pete Hammond mixes of Wynonna Judd's "Sing" weren't enough of a treat last week, today onetime '80s Neighbours stars and Stock Aitken Waterman stablemates Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan see their entire PWL back catalogs added to iTunes (including U.S.).

In the case of Kylie, this includes her four SAW albums, her original 1992 Greatest Hits and even her DeConstruction albums (1994's self-titled one and 1997's Impossible Princess) made after she left the PWL label.

But with Jason, we get his two PWL albums and his Greatest Hits, plus his original singles with every remix you can imagine...and the B-sides (including the extended mix of "She's In Love With You")!

Ian Usher of PWL tells Chart Rigger, "[These are] available in the U.S. as well to coincide with the news of Kylie's tour and the usage of 'Celebration' on the Macy's ad."

We should be so lucky. And it looks like we are!

Green Day + Butch Vig

I'm not too crazy about Butch Vig producing the new Green Day record, but at least my favorite band is finally back in the studio! It's been much too much too long since a new Green Day record (I love 'em but Foxboro Hot Tubs doesn't count IMO). But Butch Vig? I like Garbage & all, but I dunno.... I hope their long time producer, Rob Cavallo, still has a role SOMEwhere on this new record....

Green Day in studio with Nirvana producer
By Jonathan Cohen
Tue Oct 14, 8:17 PM ET

NEW YORK (Billboard) - Confirming news that Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson let slip recently on "The Carson Daly Show," Green Day is in the studio with veteran producer Butch Vig working on the follow-up to 2004's "American Idiot."

In a video posted over the weekend on YouTube, the band is seen in the control room as the camera pans over to Vig, who smiles and extends his middle finger. Instrumental bits of two new songs are heard in the background.

Vig is best known for his work on Nirvana's "Nevermind" but has also logged time behind the boards with Smashing Pumpkins and Sonic Youth, in addition to his musician role in Garbage. Of late, he has produced albums from Jimmy Eat World, Against Me! and Tad.

Green Day worked with producer Rob Cavallo on "American Idiot," a Grammy-winning smash that has sold 5.8 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The group reappeared this spring masquerading as the band Foxboro Hot Tubs, releasing an album and playing a handful of small club shows. The upcoming Green Day album, as-yet-untitled, is expected next year via Warner Bros.

Kylie - 2 Hearts!

Yay! New Kylie!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been waiting forever for new stuff from Kylie. Thank God she's doing okay nowadays. Here's her newest video. 2 Hearts is the lead single from Kylie's upcoming album, X, which is due to be released in late November. The song & video are a departure from what you would normally expect from Miss Minogue but I'm glad she's branching out and experimenting - kind of like how she did with Impossible Princess. No matter. I'm into this. I love the Marilyn hair & red lipstick. You wear it so well, Kylie! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!! Kylie is BACK!!!!!!!

Better than Britney, Bitch

At least this guy can sing! Against my better judgement, I actually like Britney's "Gimme More" (shudder), but I *really* like what Nick Connell did with the song. He also does a pretty sweet version of Rihanna's "Umbrella," a song that I really dislike, but he makes it sound listenable and enjoyable and not so annoying ella ella. You can find the "Umbrella" video & more on his MySpace page: myspace.com/nickconnell.

The Dutchess by Fergie

I can't stop listening to this cd!!!! I have been a fan of Stacy Ferguson aka Fergie since the first time I saw her on star on Kids Incorporated. She's come a looooong way from those days, and she recounts her journey in some of the most moving songs on The Duchess, such as "Finally" and "Losing My Ground." The cd is on sale @ Amazon.com for only $9.72 USD right now!
